ABOUT

Based in Dallas Forth-Worth, Carrie Tollett is an electroacoustic harpist who maintains an active teaching, performing and remote recording schedule. Available to play for a variety of special occasions, Carrie values connecting with her audience through her expressive playing as well as bringing awareness to the range of possibilities of the instrument.

Emerging from her foundational background in classical training, Carrie has a passion for pushing the boundaries of the harp beyond the classical realm. This innovative approach has led her to cultivate her own unique sound by experimenting with the limitless sonic possibilities that come from combining the harp with modern technology such as effects pedals and digital software. In an effort to bridge the gap between the harp and technology, Carrie offers resources and consultations to educate and empower harpists to incorporate this technology into their own playing.

Carrie recently graduated with a Masters Degree in Harp Performance at the University of North Texas College of Music under Dr. Jaymee Haefner. She previously graduated from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she earned her Bachelors in Harp Performance with a certificate in Music Entrepreneurship. She studied all four years with Professor Elzbieta Szmyt, the Chair of the Harp Department.

As an orchestral harpist, Carrie has played with numerous ensembles and orchestras including the Dallas String Quartet, the Sherman Symphony Orchestra, as well as the world-renowned First Baptist Dallas Orchestra, where she performed live with major Christian artists such as Chris Tomlin, Michael W. Smith, Matthew West, Casting Crowns, For King and Country, Rebecca St. James, Francesca Battistelli and Steven Curtis Chapman.
She is also a full-time Harp Director of the notable Frisco ISD Harp Program where she teaches middle and high school students.
